1. Is this one of your first few college courses? If not, what other courses have you taken? Do you have any other degrees?
This is not one of my first few college courses. In May 2019 I received my Associate’s in Liberal Arts from Union County College which covered all of my pre-requisite courses, so I’m coming into Chamberlain only needing to complete clinicals and courses from the core curriculum that are only offered here.
2. Have you developed a system that has helped you be a successful student? What was it?
The thing I’ve found that makes me a successful student is working ahead of time. I’ve noticed that when I fall behind, it’s very hard to get caught back up (if I get caught back up at all). Starting work before it’s due and reading through the syllabus before class starts have worked for me thus far.
3. What has been your most difficult challenge in school? Test anxiety? Writing papers? Study skills? Note taking? Why?
My most difficult challenge in school has been starting strong but finishing lackluster and I noticed this habit developing last semester. I believe this happens because I get comfortable after getting good grades for the duration of the semester but in the last few weeks, I start to fall off instead of focusing on finishing as strong as a started.
4. As of today, what do you see as the biggest challenge for you in nursing school?
The biggest challenge I see ahead of me for nursing school is the accelerated pace. I’ve taken classes over both winter and summer breaks at my old school and while those sessions are only a bit shorter than regular semesters, the courses were still very fast-paced. [Show Less]
