I declare that this submission is wholly my own workTask 1 (Total 700 words) each short answer question requires a response in a few sentences
(paragraph) for the questions awarded 6 marks and two –three paragraphs for questions
awarded up to 8-10marks.
1. Identify and explain the three different types of Projects and provide examples.
(8 marks)
- Change driven, the company have desired to change the operations to coordinate with
the right environment (Pinto, 2012). For example, James and Richard and Duncan
(1995) emphasised that when the market demand is greater than supply, the company
must upgrade the equipment for producing more products to conform to the appropriate
of the market environment.
- Market-driven, it must have a new product that is producing to response what the market
needs (Pinto, 2012). For instance, McDonald's in India currently does not sell beef and
pork. Moreover, McDonald's has separated the kitchens for cooking of vegetarian and
non-vegetarian. As you can see Misra (2010) mentioned that Hinduism does not eat
beef, Muslims do not eat pork but can eat chicken and vegetarian food. Therefore,
McDonald's launched a special taste burger such as the chicken version of Maharaja
Mac and McAloo Tikki in India.
- Crisis-Driven, Pinto (2012) mentioned that the response of crisis-driven will be an
urgent situation like pharmaceutical companies producing of vaccines. For example,
after the explosion of Samsung's S7 Note, the company desired to maintain the brand
image. Hence, Samsung quickly took action to make a large-scale recall of the
problematic S7 Notes. Furthermore, they decided to let customers change their phones,
give confidence to the customers and the public that they can use Samsung's S7 Note
safely (Samsung, 2016).
12. Through an example briefly explain the meaning of a Work Breakdown Structure
(WBS). Why is it important to have such a structure. (6 marks)
For example, a birthday party has a lot of things to do so they must plan and list the
thing is necessary. Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) described that what the direction is, let
us evaluate how it is done, let them ensure what is done in each process and how much the
process is not done. Follow the plan they will do the birthday party that is more efficient. The
following figure demonstrates the example of WBS.
Figure 1. WBS of birthday party
The reason why structure is important because it gives the project plan clearly. It has
described the scope of the project, determine the work content and work order. Also estimates
time, cost and resource requirements for individual units to improve time, cost and resource
estimation accuracy (Larson and Gray, 2018).
23. Using the information below, plot out a full project Gantt chart and identify the
critical path. How many days does it take to complete the project. (6marks)

As Table 1. shows the Gantt chart of the Project which included weekend days because of
the company desired to do a shortening of the project time. Hence, the weekend days need to
be rushed and the Critical Path is 22 days.
4. How would you assess and manage risks on a project? (6 marks)
To begin with the list of potential risks but not all of the risk is worth to pay attention.
Some of the risks are insignificant and can be disregard (Larson and Gray, 2018). If I am a
manager, I desired to clarify the risk list and identify the important key of the risks. After
identifying and assessing risks, it is necessary to establish a plan for dealing with risks and
finally implement or monitoring.
5. Explain what is meant by a Risk Management Plan. (6 marks)
The risk management plan is applied for the previously anticipating risk activities that
have prepared for occurring in the future. Hence, the risk management plan can mitigate or
3reduce the impact of risk activities. When the risk occurs, the lack of a plan may cause delays
in the plan or release the remediation plan too late. When making decisions under pressure,
the project manager might make the wrong decision because of panic. Not only will have the
danger increase but the cost will also increase too. Therefore, the risk management plan has
the ability to assess risk activities early and choose alternatives from the project to survive the
storm (Field and Keller, 2010).
6. Outline and explain the main aspects of monitoring project quality. (8 marks)
There are three key processes for project quality management that should implement
in project.
1. Plan quality
The quality of the plan has involved with the quality requirements of the project and
product. For a recording of the project illustrates that discovered the quality requirements.
Therefore, the output of the process includes quality management plans, quality indicators,
quality checklists and process improvement plans.
2. Perform quality assurance
Quality Assurance is used to verify that the project process is adequate. So, the
company will have a good quality if they comply with the project deliverables. Process
inventory and project review are two methods for project quality assurance.
3. Perform quality control
Quality control verifies that the product meets the quality requirements. The
observation of review and testing are two methods used to perform quality control. The result
will determine if corrective action is required.

5Document Change Control
This section provides control for the development and distribution of revisions to the
Project Charter up to the point of approval. The Project Charter does not change throughout
the project life cycle but rather is developed at the beginning of the project (immediately
following project initiation approval and in the earliest stages of project planning). The
Project Charter provides an ongoing reference for all project stakeholders. The table below
includes the revision number (defined within your Documentation Plan Outline), the date of
update/issue, the author responsible for the changes and a brief description of the context
and/or scope of the changes in that revision. (Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat) [Show Less]
