Summarize the information necessary for valid entry into NCIC and NCJIS
A valid record entry starts with supporting documentation to back up the entry. Documentation can come in the form of theft reports, a warrant of arrest, a missing person report, case reports, citations, etc. All of those documents are written by a peace officer and must substantiate the validity of the crime or the missing person. So, it's extremely important that the officer provides correct, accurate and complete information in the case document as this information can be reflected in the entry. This is done by, "Packing the Record".
Identify the CLETS, DMVI, the International Justice and Public Safety Network powered by
NLETS
(CLETS). This system is essentially the same exact system as NCJIS but for California.
DMVI. This is the system used to query vehicles within the state of Nevada. It allows access into registration, insurance, owners, and driver's license checks.
IJPSN links the state system to an international scale. It allows information sharing on the grand scale within the law enforcement community.
