Requirements to be a pharmacists
Greater than or equal to 18 YO, graduated from an ACPE accredited school of pharmacy or be a graduate of a foreign school of pharmacy and be certified by the NABP's foreign pharmacy graduate examination committee, completed 150 hours of college credit (90h from a pharmacy school), or have received at least a baccalaureate degree in a course of study devoted to pharmacy. Completed 1500 hours of pharmacy practice experience (900h must be completed in a pharmacy (intern pharmacists graduating from an ACPE accredited school of pharmacy after 1/1/16 are deemed to have met the hour requirement), pass a criminal background check,
Optometrist Prescribing
Independent authority, limited to scope of practice. Certified with the Board of Optometry to prescribe drugs, these prescribers will have "T" at the END of thier license number. For codeine containing or hydrocodone containing products--there is a max 3 day supply.
