Similarities
Differences
The way the people came to Moses to apologize to talking down on him and the
Lord and asking him to pray for them is the same in the KJV and NLT.
Description of the bread.
KJV: "and our soul loatheth this light bread." NLT: "and we hate this horrible manna!"
Verse 5: In the KJV and NLT version, the people of Israel questioned God and Moses on why they were brought to Egypt to die.
KJV: "that everyone is bitten, when he looketh upon it, shall live."
NLT: "All who are bitten will live if they simply look at it!"
Both have the same descriptions.
KJV: "And the Lord sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died."
NLT: "So the Lord sent poisonous snakes among the people, and many were bitten and died.
KJV: "that if a serpent had bitten any man, when he beheld the serpent of brass, he lived."
NLT: "Then anyone who was bitten by the snake could look at the bronze snake and be healed!"
In the KJV quote one could take the wording as anyone who held the serpent would live whereas the NLT says they must look at the bronze snake.
