Team assessment
Firstly, we want to stress that with hindsight, we could say that we are glad that we have
worked on both the Wrigley and Hertz cases. Overall, both projects were quite intense in
terms of effort that we had to put in to come to reports that we were content with. The fast
pace environment which we experienced during the creation of both cases, is an aspect that
we are all experiencing during our working life already. Therefore we find it beneficial to
discover it to be the same in this course.
Fortunately we heard already that is critical to begin early. When working on the Wrigley
case we decided to divide the work in the first stages of the project. When we discussed the
work later on we came to the conclusion that we all interpreted the tasks differently and that
we had used different problem solving models in order to come to a solution. From this point
on, we decided that it was vital to work closely together and that we had to share our efforts
more frequently. In terms of teamwork, for the Hertz case we discovered another important
aspect, which is discussing with other teams. When having discussions with other groups we
experienced an advantage in having other points of view.
Overall, the teamwork brought us to the place where we wanted to be. We came to the
conclusion that case solving is an iterative process and not something that is in place from
the moment the case starts. What we all liked in the entire process, is that we could talk
straight to each other without being rude. Furthermore, we valued individual strengths and
were able to bundle these strengths, especially for the Hertz case, where we had gained
experience of the Wrigley case already. We knew after the first tutorial that there were
various methods to come to solutions. Additionally, this tutorial provided us with an important
insight that we should not take provided data in the case for granted. Always analyze the
provided data yourself. With this in mind we could better come to consensus for the Hertz
case instead. And finally, it is important to always back up certain ideas and insights with the
relevant scientific literature if necessary [Show Less]
