2.1 Problems
(a) Income were affected during MCO period
Since this MCO period as a result of Covid-19 virus outbreak, many youngsters such
as graduated university students have been impacted where some of them lost their
jobs and got unemployed. This crisis makes it more difficult for them to save money
for future use and needs. For instance, they had to pay for their on-going
commitment such as bills, monthly rents and essential goods. According to New
Straits Times on June 16, 2020, Malaysia's unemployment rate is expected to remain
high for the remaining months this year as some companies are likely to minimize
employees. Hence, it can be assumed that there are many people who are still
searching for a new job opportunity.
(b) Lack of job knowledge
Although university students, whether from diploma, degree or other already
graduated, many of them are still lacking job interview knowledge and job culture.
These things include on how to make a perfect job resume, wearing suitable outfits
and introduction to the work environment. It is because the university environment is
not the same as the work environment out there. Primarily, the job resume is a very
important thing because it is an initial perception of the company towards the
interviewee. Statistically many of the interviewee got rejected due to this ‘poor
preparation’. Therefore, they need exposure to this knowledge so that it can improve
their understanding about the job. [Show Less]
