short stories and novels. ‘The Variant’ is also one of her short story which is
brilliant piece of literature. She has used different techniques to portray the
hidden feelings and inner thoughts of her character. This paper describes the
basic elements of style that she uses in this short story. The analysis is based on

the main goal of this article is to discover and emphasize the
significance of the author's precise choices in conveying specific meaning
through their writings. Tanzeela K. Hassan's short tale "The Variant" was chosen
as the subject of a stylistic examination.
Tanzeela K. Hassan is a Pakistani novelist on the rise. She is now a mother of
four and a stay-at-home manager, having completed her Postgraduate degree in
Foods and Nutrition while holding a baby. Art is in her blood; everyone in her
family excels in some form of art, from her parents to her siblings. When asked
how she found her writing talent, she said,
“My parents managed to take us on many expeditions across Pakistan, accompanied
with a personal diary and a sketch book along with his advice to take notes and draw
what we saw, he always encouraged us to write about our trip, saying that we should
use all are experiences to increase our creativity.”

'The Variant' is a narrative of a girl named Kulsoom who lives below the cliff
with sick plants, and her brothers who go up the cliff to gather food for her.
Kulsoom was usually scared and anxious about this. Her desire to climb the hill
was heightened when her brothers went missing. Desperate to learn more about
the subject.
The study included a stylistic examination of the text in order to deduce meaning
from the writer's word and language choices. The linguistic data in any given text
can be analyzed at four different levels. Lexical categories, grammatical
categories, figures of speech, context, and cohesiveness are among these levels.
Parallelism, anaphora, and lexical repetitions were used to scan the lexical
scheme. She has a strong personality. She is a lady who is about to embark on a
journey into the unknown that would intimidate most men. Tanzeela used an
interesting fiction piece to convey the idea of women's empowerment. The
atmosphere in this novel has been beautifully established by Tanzeela, making it
