How would you best describe Mrs.. G.'s feelings about her life, her family, her traditions, and her future?
Mrs. G’s feeling about life is that life is meaningless without the people or a person close to you. Before the death of her husband, Mrs. G was happy and enjoyed experience. However, following her husband’s demise last year, life has become meaningless with a lot of stress and loneliness. Also, Mrs. G feels that having individuals who care around you is essential and can make life exciting. The company of the home health nurse made Mrs. G happy as well as helped her to beat stress and loneliness. Besides, Mrs. G also feels that memories are what make life interesting. She did not want to live her home for an assisted living facility because it reminded her of her loving husband.
Concerning Mrs. G’s family, she feels that this is an essential social unit in her life. In other words, Mrs. G feels that her family is her support system regardless of her children being far away in other states. She cannot survive without her family. Mrs. G also feels that her traditions are essential to her and cannot be dropped regardless of the situation. Mrs. G did not want to live a house she shared with her late husband for 35 years. Under the Hispanic tradition, wives continue staying in their married homes even after the death of the husband (Miyawaki, 2016). Lastly, Mrs. G feels that her future would be okay despite the worries of her children. She is optimistic and expects to continue experiencing the loving memories for the rest of her life.
