purpose of this determinant is to provide strategies to increase insurance coverage rates which are
essential for ensuring more people get crucial health care services, such as preventive care and treatment
for chronic illnesses (U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, 2020). A sizable quantity of
individuals in the United States. approximately ten percent do not get the health care services they
require. The lack of health insurance will negatively impact the health care and patient outcomes as
individuals with no insurance may not be able to afford the health care services and prescriptions they
need. They are less likely to have a PCP that can refer them for follow up preventative care and
screenings. The lack of access to quality care results in frequent hospitalizations, premature deaths due to
lack of prevention, ethnic disparities, and increased burden on an already struggling health care system
that we have (Angier et al., 2017).

Increase the proportion of adults who get recommended evidence-based preventive health care —
AHS-08. In 2015 8.5 percent of adults 35 years or older had all suggested essential and applicable
medical prevetive services. The desired result was an increase in patients receiving these services with a
goal of 11.5%. As of 2018 6.9% of patients had received these services which is 4.6% short of the desired
goal (U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, 2020).

uninsured residents of Travis County. The services received are donated from healthcare workers and
