ANSWER
Hello Prof and Class,
The triple aims for population on the institute for healthcare improvement website is very intriguing to me. I think that the idea of aiming to improve the health of the entire population instead of a subset of the population is very important. Many aims of healthcare for improvement are about individuals who need the care but the aims don’t account for how to improve the cause of why people get diseases. The people who wrote the triple aims for the population where interested in the needs of the entire population and not just the individual needs of the person. According to Institute for Health Improvement (2019) the three aims include improving care, improving population health, and cost reduction per capita. Healthcare costs for diseases can be astronomical effecting an individual and their family immensly. The costs of healthcare is on the rise and until providers can accomplish goals to assist to decrease these costs we will continue to see populations of patients go without the proper care needed to improve their overall health.
