Discuss the EBP process and importance to nursing practice. Identify your selected specialty track. Provide a rationale
... [Show More] on why you selected the specific professional track. Identify a concept or topic you have a passion about or an area of interest related to your future specialty advanced practice area. Provide an example, using the best evidence available, substantiating the significance of your selected area of interest as it relates to your specific specialty track.
According to Essentials of Master's Education in Nursing (AACN, 2011) the process where the incorporation of scientific evidence, clinical studies, proficiency, patient’s principles and character, combined into practice in order to provide a personalized care of patients and population is called evidence-based practice. My specialty track is MSN-FNP.
The process of evidenced-based is constituted by five basic inter-related steps. In order to provide first class quality healthcare, we as healthcare team need to use evidence-based clinical practice. The process of evidence-based practice is a five steps process (formulating a clinical question, critical review of the literature, assessing the evidence, implementation, and appraising practice recommendations for change). An optimum quality nursing care delivery and patient- centered care are directly correlated to positive patient results and improved professional
According to Yackel, Short, Lewis, Breckenridge-Sproat, and Turner. (2013) The EBP process has five-steps: developing a clinical question, searching for evidence, appraising the evidence, implementation, and evaluating practice recommendations for change. EBP is patient centered and associated with higher quality nursing care, better patient outcomes, and increased professional role fulfillment.
I am currently studying MSN-FNP. The ability to work along with inter-professional collaboration, in the health care system preventing diseases and promoting health are some of the reasons I make the decision to pursue a MSN-FNP. According to Essentials of Master's Education in Nursing (AACN, 2011) a master-prepared nurse is able to contribute, take charge when necessary, in combined teams to have improvement in the results when providing care and provide support policy variations with knowledge cohort, distribution, preparation and evaluation of information application.
I as a health professional is my belief, that once a patient, community or specific population is armed with required information, then there is a higher probability that there will be a positive outcome, since they will be empowered to make an informed decision and practice abstinence or safe sex encounters. According to de Sousa, Fernandes da Costa, Tavares Luna, de Araújo Silva, and da Costa Pinheiro. (2017 the requirement for more energetic and efficient instructive approaches for the promotion and prevention of teenage health sexually transmitted issues is obvious. This study also showed that a good number of teenagers have elementary knowledge regarding STD/HIV/AIDS, and they are might be vulnerable by misinterpretation, with the influence of myths, misconceptions and certain opinions. The study also outlined that
developing educational programs addressing issues focused on STD/HIV/AIDS prevention could take place in school which could take a decisive positive role on teenagers while taking decisions on sexual behavior impacting their lives and even the community in a positive way. I would like from my point of care as a MSN-FNP future provider this is one of my priorities, to work alongside to an inter-professional team, to decrease and prevent STD/HIV/AIDS in the teenage young population in order to prevent these diseases with the information as a weapon so they can make informed decisions that may affect their health, and obtain a positive outcome among the youngsters.
