DietMaster Pro – Obesity Patient Application
DietMaster Pro is a mHealth App that helps patients to regulate their body weight through guidance on meal plans that promote good nutrition (DietMaster Pro Website, 2019). The application also tracks the user’s body symmetry measurements weight control goals and body composition for every user’s record. The application can be downloaded in both computers and smartphones hence easily accessible. The application build meal plans using database about foods. However, new information can be added to the system. Moreover, the application can also perform dietary valuations from food recall journals.
The first thing to educate the patients includes encouraging the patients to take advantage of available technology. This is because technology has made it easy for distribution and access to education materials (Ginter, 2013). The use of the DietMaster Pro empowers people to embrace healthy nutrition as a way of maintaining their body weight. Individuals should take the initiative of observing what they eat and reduce the obesity rates in society. According to the CDC, it is noted that the prevalence of obesity was at 39.8% among American adults and affected approximately 93.3 million adults (CDC, 2018). The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention identify that obesity is common, serious, and expensive. Therefore, using the application helps the users to live a healthy life and prevent the existence of risks such as obesity-related conditions.
Obesity is a personal issue and is known to influence the patient’s morale and self-esteem (Boswell, 2015). That is why the existence of the mHealth applications helps patients at the personal level. The applications help in helping the users to boost their self-esteem and work on their limitations. This is because it encourages users to work on healthy meals and encourage healthy lifestyles. The decisions that the user makes are private and hence no cases of humiliation or instances that one could be ashamed of their meal choices and bodies as well.
Families play a basic role in health care management (Weber & Kelley, 2018). The involvement of the family is central to promoting health among patients. The use of technology helps to bring the close people on board and hence ensuring that everyone is involved in the treatment plans and other interventions respectively (Larson, 2017). Using DietMaster Pro helps the users to follow simple instructions that should be followed (DietMaster Pro Website, 2019). Those steps should be followed persistently for the users to experience any results. The application allows reminders to ensure that the users follow the desired steps to achieve the desired results and reverse the obesity trends.
Finally, the application has been in use since 1995. This translates to significant experience among the developers and improvements and innovations as a way of promoting the satisfaction of the customers. In addition, the DietMaster Pro has over a million users, which demonstrates acceptability insociety (DietMaster Pro Website, 2019). The application does more in addition to helping the users to manage their nutrition. The application also performs and evaluates fitness assessment tests including strength, cardiovascular and flexibility tests respectively. Such additional functions of the application are meant to enhance people’s lives. Therefore, people should be inclined to use mHealth Apps for their personal benefit. Various applications are in existence and therefore, the community should embrace them and use them to promote their health and advance their approaches and strategies.

50 points Mark Ronald, a 58-year-old African American male, diagnosed in 2016 with asthma. Mark has been prescribed oral corticosteroids to reduce his swelling in the airways, anticholinergics intended at reducing mucus, short-acting beta-agonist, and inhaled corticosteroids, which he is supposed to take daily. Mark's primary care and cardiologist encouraged him to avoid using the drugs that may reduce his immune system, that is to say, Phenytoin (Dilantin), Phenobarbital (Luminol), and rifampin. Also, he was advised on the use of erythromycin and ketoconazole because they may increase his blood levels and corticosteroids toxicity. The medications provided to the patient work on a long term basis because they prevent and treat the symptoms of asthma. Mark is interested in learning different ways of how he can be in the position to know his health statistics and have a healthy life. The client is a technologically savvy working in the mobile service center. He has an android smartphone, which he uses for social media, internet services, calling, and texting. Therefore, the patient is eager to learn how to use the new application that will help him handle his asthma problem (Kao, & Cheng, 2017).

40 points In my plan, i will educate Mr.mark on the various ways he can adopt to manage asthma on his own. i will also advise him on the correct methods of using an inhaler to ensure that he lives a healthy life. Also, i will recommend Mr.mark to make some lifestyle changes, such as stopping smoking and reducing his weight as a way of having better chances of controlling his asthma. Finally, i will advise him to continue working with his nurses and continue taking his medications as prescribed by the doctors (Kao, & Cheng, 2017).

A doctor at the medical school in San Francisca created the app. The patient will use the app to track his asthma triggers, action plan, and medications.
