Final Research exam

i. Description and comparison of descriptive and explanatory research.
The explanatory investigation is the introductory research
... [Show More] within hypothetical
thought. The study has the design and aims at observing something and seeks to
get more understanding. Explanatory research seeks to lay the groundwork that
leads to future investigations or determine whether the existing theories might
explain the phenomenon under study. On the other hand, descriptive investigation
endeavor to explore and clarify while providing additional information to the
topic under investigation. The research aims at filling up the missing information,
describing what is happening while expanding the knowledge. Explanatory
studies are based on data collection other than guesswork to construct a predictive
model.
ii. The given article is an illustrative, also known as an explanatory study, typically
since they ponder points to look at the relationship between trust, relatedness
need, and user fulfillment with SNSs.
iii. One hypothesis in the study
HI: individuals' relatedness needs fulfillments are emphatically related to their
satisfaction with SNSs.
iv. The null hypothesis is a hypothesis that says there is no statistical significance
between the two variables in the hypothesis. It is the hypothesis that research is
trying to disprove.
In the given hypothesis in (ii) above

Null individuals' relatedness needs fulfillments are not emphatically related to
their satisfaction with SNSs.
v. An independent variable is a variable that affects other variables, whereas the
dependent variable is a variable that changes as a result of the alter within the
independent variable.
vi. From hypothesis in (iii) above
The independent variable is individuals' satisfaction with SNSs, while the
dependent variable is relatedness need satisfaction.
vii. The population is an extensive collection of individuals or objects that are known
to have similar characteristics, and you wish to generalize your research. In this
study, the population is students from a large state university in the U.S.
viii. The sampling frame is a list of all elements in the study population in which
samples will be drawn. The study implemented a sampling frame where a list of
all students' at entry business classes was used to sample 221 students.
ix. Random sampling is a process of choosing elements or objects in the population
under investigation into the sample. The study implemented a random sampling to
get a sample size of 221 students from the university's list. [Show Less]
