2. What does one of the five symptoms symptoms HAVE to be to categorize as a MDE?: depressed mood or loss of interest or pleasure
-Can have all of the symptoms but if you do not have a loss of interest or a depressed mood then it is not a MDE, must have one of these at least but could have both and 3 other symptoms
3. To qualify as a MDE, the symptoms have to be from previous function.: a change
example: May have a Low affect for their personality - but is there a change from before? Baseline is so important!
4. Symptoms of MDE: -Depressed mood most of the day, nearly every day

5. Second criteria for MDE: The symptoms cause clinically significant distress or impairment in social, occupational, or other important areas of functioning
