Meconium aspiration*= Make sure you suction first BEFORE baby breaths
Polycythemia leads to= Hyperbilirubinemia =(Jaundice) = Normal Range_ 7-9__: don’t want it
above 9=Jaundice. Hyperbilirubinemia watch for Tea colored urine
If Jaundice= may need UV treatment Polycythemia= symptoms= ruddy appearance (plethora); weak
sucking reflex; hypotonia; seizures; and Jaundice.

Vital signs: HR and RR very important*
BG monitoring=due between feedings= Above 40=good, below 40=bad* If hypoglycemic=baby
glittery Early and frequent feedings; IV Dextrose 10%= Helps get bilirubin levels down
