Poster

Now that you've analyzed the satire in some
... [Show More] posters, it's your turn to put
your satirist's license to work.
First you'll create your own parody poster, then you'll share that poster with
the class in a forum. Remember, for satire to work you have to point out the
folly or vice associated with the subject you may choose.
1. You'll create your own parody of a motivational poster rather than a
new motivational poster. You have multiple ways to create the
poster. Review these possibilities below. You will need a photo or image
to use for your poster. You can use one off of your camera or computer, or
you can find an image in the public domain at Wikimedia
Commons or Pixabay to use.
o You can create the poster in a Google Document or Google Spreadsheet
slide
o You can create the poster in a Microsoft Word or PowerPoint slide
o You can create your poster at despair.com. (Links to an external site.)
o Or you can create your poster
at https://bighugelabs.com/motivator.php (Links to an external site.)
o If you choose to create your poster at one of the poster websites,
remember to make a copy of your poster and add it to a document. At some sites the
poster you create is only available for a short time.
2. Once you have created your poster, be sure to include the
following to explain your poster.
o The Target of the Satire
o The characteristic being satirized
o What you as the satirist hope to change in the target
3. After you have created your poster and explained it, then you will post your
poster to the forum.
Remember, in this assignment are not creating another
"Motivational" poster; you are parodying the posters (poking fun at
them), so please be creative and have fun.
After posting your demotivational poster, read and
respond to at least two of your classmates' posts.
Before you actually begin composing your paragraph, please take a few
minutes to review this assignment's rubric. To access the [Show Less]
