Intel PQS Study Guide 2023
101.1 ORM - ANS-Operational Risk Management (ORM) is a decision-making tool used
by personnel at all levels to
increase
... [Show More] operational effectiveness by identifying, assessing, and managing risks. By
minimizing
risks to acceptable levels, mission accomplishment is more likely.
101.2 5-step ORM Process - ANS-1. Identify the Hazards
2. Assess the Hazards
3. Make Risk Decisions
4. Implement Controls
5. Supervise
101.3 Explain the Risk Assessment Matrix - ANS-A risk assessment matrix can be
utilized to quantify threats when dealing with risk management.
By creating a table that includes both the probability and severity of any given
threat/challenge,
you can assign a Risk Assessment Code (RAC) to capture that risk inherent in the task.
101.4 Personnel Security - ANS-Personnel Security Program (PSP) is the system which
enables individuals working within the
confines of the federal government to initially and continually access classified material
and
continue assignment in sensitive duties. It ensures that people who are trusted with
national security matters are "loyal, reliable, and trustworthy" and creates the
procedures
for personnel security designations.
101.4 Information Security - ANS-The Information Security Program (ISP) applies
"uniform, consistent, and cost-effective
policies and procedures to the classification, safeguarding, transmission and destruction
of
classified information."
101.4 Physical Security - ANS-Intelligence Community Standard 705-1 provides
Physical and Technical Security Standards
for Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities (SCIFs). This provides technical
planning
and design specifications for the creation and utilization of SCIFs. For reference, SKIFs
are
used wherever classified documents are stored, or individuals are completing sensitive
assignments involving the use of classified material.
101.5 Security Classification Levels TOP SECRET - ANS-TOP SECRET: Unauthorized
disclosure results in Exceptionally Grave Damage to National
Security.
• A document's cover and back pages must be marked at the top and bottom with the
highest level of classified information found anywhere in the document.
• Transported by:
i. Direct contact between appropriately cleared personnel
ii. Defense Courier Service (DCS), if material qualifies
iii. COMSEC system authorized by NSA
101.5 Security Classification Levels SECRET - ANS-SECRET: Unauthorized disclosure
results in serious damage to National Security.
• CO establishes control appropriate to local environment, employing proper access
control, marking, storage, and destruction.
• Transport same as TOP SECRET (but only DCS when US control cannot be
maintained-doesn't apply to COMSEC), but U.S. Postal Service (USPS) and other
controlled carriers also approved in certain situations.
101.5 Security Classification Levels CONFIDENTIAL - ANS-Unauthorized disclosure
results in damage to National Security.
• Transport same as Secret.
101.5 Security Classification Levels U//FOUO - ANS-A marking applied to unclassified
information that meets one or more
exemptions of the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) under Title 5 U.S.C., Section 522
(b)
(2) through (9). Information must be unclassified to be designated FOUO. Declassified
information may be designated FOUO, if it qualifies under exemptions 5 U.S.C. 522
(b)(2)
through (9). Simply put, this information is unclassified, but not to be disseminated freely
outside the construct of government operations.
101.5 Security Classification Levels SENSITIVE COMPARTMENTED INFORMATION
(SCI) - ANS-classified information concerning or derived
from intelligence sources, methods, or analytical processes that is required to be
handled
exclusively within formal access control systems established by the Director of National
Intelligence.
101.5 Security Classification Levels SPECIAL ACCESS PROGRAM (SAP) - ANS-a
specific class of classified information that imposes
safeguarding and access requirements that exceed those normally required for
information
at the same classification level.
101.5 Security Classification Levels SPECAT - ANS-Special Category messages
require strict distribution limitations... [Show Less]
