There are two (2) parts to this assignment. The purpose of this assignment is to assist the student in developing curricular components based on analysis
... [Show More] of educational research of learners, the community, health care trends and accreditation standards. Part 1 is a scholarly paper, in which students select concepts for inclusion in a nursing curriculum. (See resources in Week 4: “Curriculum Development” & “Assignment 3 Materials”). Part 2 consists of the completion of two tables with program and course objectives based on Bloom’s revised taxonomy. There is NOT a paper for Part 2, only the tables. In Week 4, download all materials pertaining to “Curriculum Development”. Print the tables in Weekly Guide Week 4 so they are available when reading these directions.

b. Explain the relevance of these concepts in today’s nursing environment. Include how these concepts fit with the each of these documents: Essentials of Baccalaureate Education (American Association of College of Nursing [AACN], 2008), Institute of Medicine (2010) Future or Nursing Focus on Education report and Pre-licensure KSAs (Quality and Safety Education for Nurses, 2014)

Include a title page and add a title to each table using a level 1 heading followed by the completed table.
10. Complete the Student Program and Level Outcome Table.
a. Review the Course Descriptions document for the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) level courses: Fundamentals of Nursing; Medical -Surgical Nursing; and Leadership.
b. Build program outcomes, level outcomes and course objectives based on the course descriptions of these three BSN
courses and the key concepts identified in Part 1.
c. Review the Sample Student Program and Level Outcome Table in the Assignment 3 Materials in located in the Week 4 module. Any of the outcomes provided or key concepts used in the sample table cannot be used for this assignment.
d. Develop two (2) student program outcomes appropriate for the BSN program that reflect the knowledge and skills that graduate so of the program needed in today’s workforce.
e. Develop two (2) level outcomes that demonstrate increased levels of student learning as the student advances in the curriculum.
f. Indicate which the key concepts (presented in Part 1) these program outcomes relate to and place the key concepts in the appropriate column table.
g. Indicate in the designated column which of The Essentials of Baccalaureate Education (AACN, 2008) relate to each outcome.
11. Complete the Course Objective Table.
a. Develop one (1) course objective for each of the three BSN courses that reflects the placement of each course in the curriculum and demonstrates increased levels of student learning as the course advances in the curriculum. Use each of Bloom’s three revised domains of learning when writing the objectives. (One objective will use a verb from the cognitive domain, one objective will use a verb from the affective domain, and one objective from the psychomotor domain).
