Your project learning should be communicated as a substantive, formal paper. The paper is not a research paper, although it has a research element in the backgrounder section you completed in Unit 2 and references cited in the backgrounder.
Directions
Using the outline below, write a substantive, formal paper based upon an intercultural activity you experience just for this course. For this paper you will be:
1. Analyzing your intercultural communication skills.
2. Applying of the textbook principles to the particular intercultural experience you conducted during this course.
3. Applying what you learned about yourself based on the many measures of self-analysis tests from the textbook and McCroskey website.
4. Creating a plan for self-improvement of your intercultural communication.
Technical Requirements for Paper
1. Write everything in your own words. Quote no more than a maximum of 15% of your paper from scholarly sources, and everything else must be in your own words.

Backgrounder of research on a relevant topic for your intercultural communication action project core assessment. This research with citations and a reference are due Unit 2, then must be included as the introduction in your Unit 6 Core Assessment.
Self-Analysis
Analyze your intercultural communication skills by using the various self-assessment measures in the textbook and additional ones provided in class. Complete at least five measures (tests) from the textbook or other course sources http://www.jamescmccroskey.com/measures/ (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site. You completed and discussed these measures in the Discussion Board. Use your conclusions from the results to self-analyze your communication effectiveness. They should inform you and give communication strategies to use in your Plan section. Discuss the implications of your test results and what they mean about improving your communication.
Experiential Activity for This Course
Describe the new intercultural event you selected and experienced while enrolled in this course. Explain, when and where you went. Stretch yourself. This intercultural communication action project needs to be specifically for the purpose of this course and not something from the past or that you have to do for some other reason. The intercultural communication action project may be attending an intercultural activity, religious event different from your previous religious experiences, ethnic festival, or other appropriate intercultural experience designed to expand your intercultural perceptions. The new intercultural even may include—but are not limited to--the following:
• Attend an intercultural event or festival.
• Learn about some ethic food you’ve never eaten. Go to an ethic grocery store, ask for help with a recipe, cook the meal, enjoy with friends.
• Attend a holocaust museum exhibit.
• View the African art exhibit at a museum.
• Serve meals through a local shelter for the homeless.
• Visit a governmental agency that works with immigrants.
• Ask an acquaintance of a different ethnicity if you can attend a party, religious service, community center, or ethnic activity with the person.
• Spend a day at a K-12 school with a different cultural makeup than your own.
