A1A. Building Advantages.
There are several distinct advantages to building a new
... [Show More] building. An Orthopedic clinic will have several advantages if built from the ground up. One of the main advantages of building, is that the hospital already owns the property. With this, there is no working with real estate agents or other building owners. The cost of building the new orthopedic clinic will be $120/ sq ft. which will put the price tag at roughly $600,000. This price tag is one of the more favorable options as they will be able to own and use the space as they feel necessary. Also building the New PT center will allow them to connect the new space with the existing buildings, giving the appearance of it being all the same facility. Having this facility attached to the current hospital will come with some advantages as well. There will be the ability to use the same Parking lot reducing confusion for patients as they come in for treatment. Any patient that has a medical emergency will be able to be treated with existing hospital staff. All housekeeping can be performed by the current staff with little or no increase in staffing ratios. Owning the property also gives the hospital the ability to depreciate the property over a period of time.
A1B. Buying Advantages
Some unique advantages of buying a space for a new orthopedic line as well need to be considered before a choice is made. One of the biggest things that may be viewed as an advantage is the ability to continue the everyday operations of the hospital without interruption. Building something on campus can have a large impact on existing services. There can be times when power will need to be shut down. Parking lots can be full of construction equipment and associated workers. Purchasing a lot close to the hospital, preferably adjacent to it can increase the footprint of the hospital and increase the visibility of the services that are offered on campus. [Show Less]
