First chapter
Write a one or two page introducing your airport. This should serve as an introduction to your final paper. Discuss such items as the
... [Show More] location, NPIAS classification, surrounding community, its relationship to the collocated reliever and general aviation facilities, as well as any other information you deem important, including information from the FAA Master Record and Airport Data Sheets.
Second chapter
Your airport’s airside. This is a great opportunity to incorporate a table or two into your paper. Depending on the number and size of your tables, you should be able to write from one to three pages in length. you can start by identifying what incorporates an airside, i.e. runways, taxiways, cargo facility, tore, ARFF, you will then discuss the specific of each, design is an important factor, is it asphalt or concrete, how long and wide is the runway, what category of aircraft can it accommodate in accordance with FAR guidelines. Air traffic is another course so you can touch base but not more than a paragraph.
Third Chapter
You are going to describe your airport’s landside, with a focus on the terminal, ground access, aircraft parking/configuration, and automobile parking. This is a great opportunity to incorporate a graphic or two into your paper (terminal design, access roads, etc.). Depending on the number and size of your graphics, you should be able to write from two to three pages.
Fourth Chapter
You are going to describe your project airport's security program and define its AOA, secure and sterile areas, and SIDA. You may take one of two approaches: Either contact or visit your airport seeking the information you need, or using the knowledge you’ve obtained to date, make educated assumptions about your airport. In either case, your paper should clearly reflect your knowledge of the airport's security program and defined its security areas.
Fifth Chapter
You are to prepare a budget for your airport. Given the nature of this Course, and with the understanding that any airport budget, for even the smallest of facilities, cannot be prepared in one short time, you are not expected to prepare a detailed budget nor the analysis that always accompanies one. However, you have acquired enough insight into both your selected airport and the working process of developing a budget for you to easily prepare a budget worksheet that addresses the key financial components of revenue and expenses meeting the minimum requirements to support your airport for the next fiscal year.
You should include both tables (expenses and revenue) as well as a brief description of each source of revenue and the purpose of each expense line items
Sixth Chapter and final Chapter
Describe the economic, political, and social role your airport plays in its community.
You may take one of two approaches in preparing this paper. Either contact or visit your airport seeking the information you need, or using the knowledge you’ve gleaned to date, make educated assumptions about your airport. In either case, your paper should clearly reflect your knowledge of this module’s topics. [Show Less]
