[Show More] below..: Abstract Depression disorder is defined as an illness that involves the body, mind, and thoughts of a human being. Depression can interfere with your daily actives, your relationships, your job, and every other aspect of your life. (psychologytoday.com) Depression has been explained as self-disappointment, despair, and has even been known to cause thoughts of suicide, self-harm, or self-mutilation. As a nurse, I have had many patients come in looking for help, because they started to realize that they needed help. We have had many treatments come to visit us during their low time in their life. During their time with us, we would try to see what would be the best treatment for the patients. We would talk to the patient about antidepressant medications, SSRI’s, and even sometimes enzyme inhibitors. This paper will explain all of the roles of these treatments and how it would affect the patient. It will break down the types of treatments, and their roles in the patient’s life. References 1.
