Physical Environment Characteristics Description of Physical Environment with Examples Health Impact Evidence-Based Rationale
General Appearance Overall buildings look in good shape. There are trash bags all over the place. Most streets look fairly clean and graffiti can be found in some areas. Signaling and traffic lights are operating. Green areas are found along the way with a couple of parks and some trees in the streets. The major concern would be the trash found along the city because it calls for undesirable rodents, cockroaches, and other insects that can carry disease. According to the National Center for Biotechnology information the physical environment and the exposure or proximity to toxic waste can harm health.
Economic Differences It is noticeable when travelling from Industrial Heights (the poorest community in Sentinel city) to Nightingale Square (“suburbs”) how the stores and the general look of the surroundings changes. If income is lower the access to healthcare is more difficult and resources are limited. Industrial Heights median household income is $ 24,672 (below poverty level) to Nightingale Square
$269,550. [Show Less]
